There was a great turn out for the Peter Spanton Memorial course in Ware, Hertfordshire on Saturday 21st August. Over 60 karateka were training from England and Wales plus visitors and old friends spectating.
There was a great atmosphere and different Higashi Senior grades passing on their knowledge and skills. We practiced various aspects of Higashi and Wado Kai including kata, advanced bunkai and competition sparring techniques.
It was the first time many of the clubs had been together in years due to Covid so it was not only a fitting send off for Sensei Peter Spanton but also a reunion for Higashi.
Special mention for Sue Skinner who organised the event which we hope will be an Annual one from now on.
